Building Clarity from Complexity
Mosaic Consulting helps Hong Kong businesses bring coherence to complex strategic situations through thoughtful analysis and practical frameworks.
Back to HomeOur Story
Mosaic Consulting was founded in Hong Kong with a straightforward premise: that good consulting should help clients see their situations more clearly, not create dependency on consultants.
Our name reflects our approach. Just as a mosaic brings together diverse pieces into a coherent whole, we help organisations understand how their various components, whether business units, partnerships, or strategic options, fit together.
We've built our practice around three areas where we believe we can add genuine value: portfolio strategy, alliance management, and scenario planning. These disciplines share a common thread, which is helping leaders make sense of complexity and make better decisions as a result.
Over the years, we've worked with organisations ranging from family businesses to multinational corporations. Each engagement has reinforced our belief that the best consulting relationships are collaborative, where we work alongside clients rather than presenting solutions from afar.

Our Values
These principles guide how we work with clients and shape the culture of our practice.
Clarity
We aim to simplify rather than complicate. Our work should leave clients seeing their situation more clearly than before.
Partnership
We work alongside clients, not above them. The best insights often emerge from genuine collaboration.
Honesty
We share our perspectives candidly, even when they're not what clients want to hear. Honest advice is valuable advice.
Practicality
We focus on what can actually be implemented. Elegant frameworks matter less than workable solutions.

Conflict Management
We maintain careful conflict checks and will decline engagements where conflicts cannot be appropriately managed.
Transparent Scope
Clear engagement letters define scope, deliverables, and fees upfront. No surprises, no hidden costs, no scope creep without discussion.
Regular Communication
We maintain open lines of communication throughout engagements, with regular check-ins to ensure alignment and address concerns.
Our Approach to Consulting
The consulting industry has developed a reputation for producing expensive reports that gather dust on shelves. We've built Mosaic Consulting specifically to avoid that outcome.
Our approach emphasises understanding before recommending. Before proposing solutions, we invest time in truly understanding your situation, including your constraints, your organisation's capabilities, and what success would actually look like for you. This diagnostic phase often reveals that the real challenge is different from the presenting problem.
We believe strongly in transparency about our reasoning. When we make recommendations, we explain the logic behind them, including the assumptions we've made and the trade-offs involved. This allows you to challenge our thinking and ensures that our conclusions actually make sense for your specific circumstances.
Capability building is central to how we work. We aim to leave organisations better equipped to handle similar challenges in future, not more dependent on external advice. This might mean training internal teams, documenting our analytical frameworks, or working in ways that transfer knowledge throughout the engagement.
Hong Kong's business environment has unique characteristics that matter for strategic analysis. We understand the dynamics of operating in a gateway market, the importance of relationships in Asian business contexts, and the specific regulatory and competitive landscape that shapes decision-making here.
